Film Fade to Black (1980)

Fade to Black

Eric Binford is an obsessed movie buff, whose singular obsession has made him the target of bullies and antagonistic family members. When he crosses paths with a Marilyn Monroe look-alike, she becomes the physical representation of his cinematic obsessions. They make plans for a date, but she stands him up and his sanity takes a turn for the worse.

He becomes homicidally unbalanced, transforming himself into numerous classic movie characters, such as Dracula, the Mummy and Norman Bates, and inflicting his homicidal urges on his oppressors and working his way up to the Marilyn Monroe look-alike.
