Film The Message (1976)

The Message

In Mecca in the 7th century, Mohammed was visited by a vision of the Angel Gabriel, who compelled him to lead the people of Mecca against the corrupt political and military leaders who rule Mecca and instead worship the one true God.

This historical epic chronicles the birth of the Islamic faith and the story of the Islamic prophet Mohammed. The film follows Muhammad’s early years as a prophet, beginning with Mecca where the Muslims were persecuted. Crucial events, such as the Battle of Badr and Battle of Uhud are depicted, and the majority of the story is told from the point of view of Muhammad’s uncle (Hamza), the leader of Mecca (Abu) and his wife (Hind).
